The Detroit Region is a global leader in advanced manufacturing—whether it’s automotive or aerospace, we have the talent, institutional knowledge, and industry network to produce the technology of the future.

Here are five reasons that demonstrate why advanced manufacturers should look no further than the Detroit Region for their upcoming expansion projects.

The Detroit Region is home to more than 284,000 advanced manufacturing workers.

There are more than 7,300 businesses operating in the industry sector. That’s a hub of activity that continues to draw investment from around the world.

Drones, batteries, and semiconductors: Michigan powers it all.

Michigan ranks as a top ten state for aerospace attractiveness, and is #1 globally for high growth drone companies, due to its fast and accessible design production cycle. The state is also a leader for battery capacity, projecting to have battery capacity to support more than 10 million EV’s per year by 2030.

Our higher education institutions support this innovative growth with leading degree programs—the University of Michigan is ranked as a top location for semiconductor talent pipeline.

One of the largest and most highly skilled hubs for manufacturing talent is in the Detroit Region.

The Detroit Region is the #1 location for assemblers and fabricators, with more than 73,000 workers located here.

The Detroit Region outpaces the nation in deployed robots.
