Detroit Regional Partnership Attracts Over $363 Million in Investment, 2,100+ Direct Jobs in 2021
Detroit Regional Partnership, a non-profit economic development organization, secured 21 project wins in 2021, which are expected to create more than $363 million in investment and 2,146 direct jobs in the 11-county Detroit Region.
Winning Michigan Jobs’ shares statewide support for tiered approach to job creation
A broad coalition of regional economic development professionals from across the state today testified in support of House Bills 5425-5426, which establish the Michigan Employment Opportunity Program to win new jobs and investments for communities across the state. The bipartisan effort to establish a sustainable incentive program addresses one of the main concerns identified by industry leaders who have chosen other states over Michigan recently: the lack of a competitive, consistent economic development structure that includes incentives for establishing new, well-paying jobs.

Detroit Region a Finalist in the EDA’s Build Back Better Regional Challenge, Set to Compete for up to $100 Million
Today, the Detroit Regional Partnership (DRP) announced that it has successfully applied for a $500,000 planning grant and advanced to Phase 2 of the Economic Development Administration’s $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge. A coalition led by the DRP will compete as one of 60 nationwide finalists for up to $100 million per grantee in American Rescue Plan Act funds for transformational economic programs that grow new industries or scale existing ones.
